Wedding Wednesday: White Wedding - The Ceremony

Hello again, it's Wednesday again which means I get to talk some more about our wedding. Yey!!

Today I'm sharing some details about the ceremony.

Time : 1pm
Venue: Talbot Heath School, Bournemouth

If I'm honest, after walking down the aisle (shaking with nerves) and catching the eye of a few guests before looking at Andy, who was really emotional; the rest of the ceremony was a blur!! I have a recollection of laughing when I couldn't get the ring on Andy's finger and being convinced that I was going to say "awful wedded husband" like some awful RomCom. But then suddenly it had been an hour and we were married!

Legal Ceremony

Bridal Entrance: The Glasgow Love Theme (from Love Actually)
Reading :  Taken from One Tree Hill - Read by Ali George, my stepmum

One Tree Hill Wedding Reading

Signing of the register:
Witnesses: Alex and Sam Airey (my wonderful stepbrothers)

Music:
Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheerhan
Free - Oasis (Andy's choice!)
You are the Best Thing - Ray LaMontague

We then took a slightly untraditional route as it was really important that we also got the opportunity to bring my faith into our ceremony. Because we were getting married in a non-religious venue we weren't allowed to have anything religious in our legal ceremony and we had to wait for the registrar to leave before we could mention God. But we then asked my friend, Rev. Stephen Partridge to lead a short blessing service for us.

Blessing

Songs:
O, Come all Ye Faithful (we actually opened with just singing the chorus: "O Come let us adore him")
10, 000 Reasons
How Great Thou Art

Reading: 1 John 4: 16-19- read by Jess Lane (as a stand in due to my friends plan getting caught up in Storm Frank!!)

Prayers: Ben and Rachel Holloway

Exit of the Bride & Groom: Crazy in Love - Beyoncé

I (along with Andy and some very great, helpful friends) had hole punched Harry Potter books
into confetti which everyone threw as we exited the hall.

And then we were husband and wife and were greeted with mulled cider!

As ever thank you to Matt and Esther for the amazing photographs.
