My £11 Skincare Secret

I've made no secret in the past that I don't have a "skincare" routine. Even leading up the wedding I kept telling myself I needed to remove what little make up I wear every night, moisturise etc. But, that didn't happen. Thank goodness for complimentary genetics and a wonderful make up artist!

But, I'm not getting any younger and skin really doesn't look after itself! So when my favourite daily e-zine, The Pool, shared their new skin care find I had to give it a go.

Enter Body Shop's Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

It's simple to use: apply a couple of pumps to your face, wet hands to make a lather (it doesn't lather that much.. I've tried using more oil and loads of water) then wash off with a damp cloth (if you buy in store Body Shop may try to sell you a cloth.. I just use a flannel from Asda!)

It's really that simple. You're done in a matter of minutes so there's more time to get some beauty sleep (or check Instagram). My skin is left feeling clean, I can see that the remainder of my make up has been removed and because it's an oil my skin feels moisturised too. Which is great because my skin can get dry.

Just make sure you follow those steps. To begin with I was applying it to a cotton wool pad and then wiping my face with it.. that's definitely an invite for oily skin. Just, don't do it!

The Pool review said that even for oily skin this is great because it doesn't linger on skin and I've definitely noticed a reduction in any spots in the time I've been using it (seriously, I had great, clear skin in my teenage years .. and now in my twenties I get break outs!!)

At £11 this is actually more than I'd normally spend on any skincare, being from the "what's on offer in Boots" camp but I've been using this every day for nearly 6 weeks and it's hardly gone down at all! A definite worthwhile investment!

What's your skincare secret?
