New Year's Resolutions & January Goals

Happy New Year!!! 

I know i'm a little late to be posting my January goals and new year's resolutions but I think you can forgive me since I have been on honeymoon. More on that soon!

How was your Christmas and New Year? I want to hear all about it, please.

So, I thought I'd share some short term & long term goals today. In theory, my monthly goals will contribute towards my goals for 2016. 

New Year's Resolutions:

Get to target weight & reassess- In November I decided to change my goal weight to 7lb heavier, based on what my body was saying. With Christmas/wedding/honeymoon I'm now probably about 12lb away from my upper target. I'd like to be there by July at the absolute latest and then maybe i'll reset it to my original goal. 

Learn Italian - I'm taking on this challenge in conjunction with Trello and Luis von Ahn, CEO of language immersion site Duolingo. I don't know when we'll next go to Italy but it's a language i've been meaning to learn for a while. 

Save money - I know, I know.. this isn't a smart target because I should specify an amount but anything above the £600 I currently have saved is good right?

Blog 2 times a week every week -  This is something I need to work myself back up to and really commit to. I am using resources from co-schedule to get myself back into the habit. 

Read more non-fiction books - I can't think how to phrase this. I've been reading a lot of marketing blogs and whitepapers recently but would like to read more books around marketing and self development. I'm aiming for one per every fiction book I read. I also have another reading challenge which I'm going to write a separate post about. 

I'm sure there is more but perhaps I'll add them throughout the year. 

January Goals:

Lose 4lbs- I'm trying to get back on plan now we're back from honeymoon and I'm aiming to lose around 1-2lbs a week. 

Reach 10k steps at least 3 times a week - I got a fitbit for Christmas and I LOVE it . But I have yet to reach 10K steps (typically the day we went for a long walk in Cornwall it was out of battery!) I've started back with my daily lunchtime walk and I'm hoping to improve my steps each day. 

Declutter the spare bedroom - The whole flat needs decluttering, again! But I feel like small steps are best, right? So I'll start with the room most prone to clutter and junk! 

Drink 1l of water everyday - again, thank you fitbit for helping me to track this. I'm only counting pure water in this not tea or squash etc.
